I was working as an electronics technician at the Radio and Space Research Station after graduating in 1969 when the Apollo Astronaughts returned from their three day flight to the moon. The four men were touring the World and had come to our lab on a courtesy visit. I was attending to my work when Neil looked through the door and asked my name. "Chris" I said. He asked me my job, then said, "We depend on men like you".
I then went to the door as he asked me the way to the loo, so I took him there. He refused to shake my hand as "That was reserved for royalty".
The whole Apollo crew and I used the loo and we then went on to his lecture.
They asked for suggestions for additional experiments to be done on the moon. I suggested a corner cube reflector to test the General Theory of Relativity and the scale of the Solar System. I also suggested the heat flow experiment that was carried on a much later mission.
Chris.
