Maia lived in France for some time where she worked in the aerospace industry as a production engineer then while on a business trip to London recently with her company she was picked up by a psychiatric nurse who recognised her and put in a psychiatric prison where she was sectioned under the mental health act.
I believe she was 'wanted' in Britain but she had designed an electric airliner powered by a new source of power which had been demonstrated at the University where we met.
Her life's experiences had caused the psychiatrist to declare her abnormal.
The patients are allowed to use the phone and having failed to contact her husband rang me up at home.
I went to the hospital at once and she was released to me under the British law that says a mental patient may be released into the care of a friend.
I took her home in my car and laid her on the couch as she had been drugged by the hospital staff and covered her with a blanket.
They had given me her property in a plastic bag after I declared her jewellery as cheap imitations ("diagems" I said, diagems are imitation diamonds made of boron nitride).
When she awoke during the night with me in a chair beside her she called her husband again but did not get through.
I gave her breakfast in the morning and mum and I took her to her place of refuge some miles away.
She lay on the back seat in the car with a blanket covering her so the surveillance cameras would not catch her site.
I then returned home. Mum wondered where she had gone after I dropped her off.
I understand she has now travelled to America with her husband.
Chris.
