Reverse Engineered
Tesla's engine was a thermonuclear fusion engine. It was simple, a coil of 1/4" copper tubing tuned with a capacitor with the coil enclosing a glass tube containing low pressure hydrogen gas.
The unit was started with a 300 amp pulse from a big battery and the amplitude of the oscillations was limited by a neon tube, early versions used a spark gap.
It was a very powerful generator of alternating current electricity.
The unit that gave thrust in his flying saucer was a crossed electric and magnetic field where both field were from the same alternating source, the electric field was high voltage and the magnetic field high current.
This thrust gave out no radiation and worked in a screened box.
The thrust was generated by virtual particles, these moved then vanished leaving only momentum. In fact it probably does give out radiation of some sort.
The thrust was power/c as usual.
The British heavily stamped on it because it denied the rich their income from petrol. And they still do.
Their other engine was the photon rocket which took electrical power from the Tesla Engine to a loop antenna in the bowl of a curved reflector to make a powerful radio beam that gave thrust by photon reaction.
