Conjugated dienes can conduct electricity as individual molecules. Aromatic rings can have current running round them. Long chain conjugated diene molecules combined with a benzene ring could make a switch. See Below:

When charge is pushed into A and B, charge will be pushed into C, thus making an and logic gate.
Complex structures like this could be built up into molecular computer processors.
I suggested this while studying chemistry at Portsmouth Polytechnic (Now Portsmouth University) in 1968. My supervisor indicated that is was difficult to make and as there were no jobs... And then there was the psychiatrist....
